Thai speech database

About this dataset

1. Product Overview

A Thai speech database totaling 530 hours, with a sampling rate of 16,000 Hz and a bit depth of 16 bits. The speakers are native Thai speakers who recorded in quiet environments using handheld devices; their ages range from 18 to 60. The content covers key domains including finance, sports, technology, culture and entertainment, news, and everyday conversational language. After transcription and annotation by professional linguists, the data underwent rigorous quality assurance, achieving a text accuracy rate exceeding 95%.

2. Speech Data Transcription

Transcribers render audio into text based on what they hear, striving for complete alignment between the written text and the spoken content. General guidelines include: 1) The transcribed text must exactly match the audio pronunciation—no extra words, omissions, or errors. 2) Numerals should be transcribed in English Latin form—for example, “หนึ่ง สอง สามะ” becomes “one two three,” not “123.” 3) English terms should be written in lowercase unless capitalized for proper nouns; phonetic spellings must use uppercase letters followed by spaces, such as “W W W dot Google dot com” or “C E O.” 4) Annotations must fully reflect the original pronunciation without any deletions.
