About this dataset

1. Product Overview

A U.S. English speech database totaling 987 hours. Sampling rate: 16,000 Hz; bit depth: 16 bits. Speakers are primarily from California, New York, Washington, and Oregon. The data has been transcribed and annotated by professional linguists and rigorously quality-checked, achieving a text accuracy rate of over 95%.

2. Speech Data Transcription

Transcribers render the audio content based on what they hear, striving to ensure that the written text accurately reflects the spoken words. General guidelines include: 1) The transcription must exactly match the audio pronunciation—no extra words, missing words, or errors. 2) Numbers should be spelled out in English using Latin characters, e.g., “one two three,” rather than “123.” 3) Letters must be capitalized according to their phonetic pronunciation, e.g., “W W W dot Google dot com,” “C E O.” 4) Annotations must fully capture the original pronunciation without omissions.
